We are a group of highly-trained Registered Dietitian-Nutritionists and New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionists with specialties ranging from prenatal nutrition to pediatric nutrition to eating disorders.
Though our backgrounds and experiences are diverse,  we all share the same expert nutrition knowledge and passion for helping others transform their lives through food and lifestyle change.
Leah Wolofsky, MS, RD, CDN, Esq,

Owner

 

Leah Wolofsky is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, licensed NYS attorney, and an authority in the area of dietetics-nutrition practice and the law.

 

She started Boro Park Nutrition (now more broadly called The Dietitian Group) from counseling clients out of her living room back in 2014. Her warm, friendly and down-to-earth personality grew an overwhelming clientele and soon led her to expand the business and hire other dietitians.

 

Leah is a nationally-renowned expert in the area of the practice of nutrition and the law and nutrition practice regulation both within and across state lines as well as in CDR credentialing standards and guidelines.

 

She is also an accomplished author and speaker. Her speaking engagements have included many well-known dietetic internship programs, college campuses, and community organizations. She has authored her first book, A Brand New You (Menucha Publishers) in 2018.

 

Leah’s mission is to ensures the dietitian group remains true to its vision no matter how big it grows—to provide a personal non-intimidating atmosphere to help clients surpass their nutritional goals.

 

When not counseling clients or running the business, Leah enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Dina Schachter, RDN, CDN

 

Dina Schachter is a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist, a New York State certified dietitian-nutritionist and a graduate of the Priority Nutrition Care Dietetic Internship program.

 

Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Dina worked as a secretary in a medical office. She also worked with individuals with disabilities through Ohel/Bais Ezra. She is passionate about helping others achieve their goals through nutrition counseling and motivating clients to make changes.

 

When not counseling clients, Dina can be found cooking/baking, traveling/hiking, spending time with family and friends, etc.

Sima Zilberberg, RD
 

Sima Zilberberg is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, and a graduate of The University of Alabama and NutrasourceRD dietetic internship.

Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Sima interned in long-term and acute care facilities was a nutrition counselor for three years. She specializes in counseling children, adults, and seniors. She is passionate about helping people live healthier lives.

When not counseling clients, Sima can be found cooking in the kitchen and spending time with her family.

Elana Sturm MS, RDN, CDN

 

Elana Sturm is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, a New York State certified dietitian-nutritionist and a graduate of Brooklyn College with a Master of Science in Nutrition.

Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Elana completed her dietetic internship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where she then began her career working as a clinical dietitian. She specializes in eating disorders, disordered eating, diabetes and pediatric nutrition and is passionate about helping others disconnect from a history of disordered eating, in order to begin a new healthy lifestyle centered around balance, moderation and body positivity.

When not counseling clients, you can find Elana whipping up something tasty in the kitchen, staying active with dance and yoga, playing guitar or piano, or traveling on a new adventure with a good book in tow. 

Karen Wright, CNS, CDN, MSHNFM

 

Karen Wright is a New York state certified dietitian-nutritionist and a graduate of University of Western States with a Master’s in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine.

In addition to being part of Boro Park Nutrition team, Karen works as a nutritionist at Metro Integrative Pharmacy. Her experience includes working with the fireman, police officers and rescue workers affected by September 11th World Trade Center attacks. She is passionate about helping people transform their health through delicious foods, movement and by detoxifying their living environment.

Karen specializes in environment and functional nutrition and is the author of the book “Is It Mold? A Holistic Approach to Managing a Commonly Overlooked Condition.” Karen actively researches the role that toxins play in the health and seeks solutions to resolve those issues.

When not counseling clients, Karen can be found folding modular origami or continuing with her professional studies.

Chaya Sara Klug/Lehmann, RDN, CDN

Chaya Sara Klug is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, a New York State certified dietitian-nutritionist and a graduate of Brooklyn College. 

 

Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Chaya Sara worked as a piano and vocal instructor.  She has experience in Diabetes and Celiac disease. She is passionate about helping people achieve their health and weight goals.

When not counseling clients, Chaya Sara can be found reading and spending time with family.

Alexander Gavronsky, MS, RD, CDN, CNSC

 

Alexander Gavronsky is a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist, a New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist and a graduate of CUNY Brooklyn College, after which he attended SUNY University at Buffalo to complete his dietetic internship.

 

Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Alexander worked as a Lead Dietitian, where he continues to specialize in various aspects of clinical nutrition. His clinical focuses include critical care nutrition, where he participates in the nutrition management of patients admitted to the ICU. He is passionate about finding smart, practical solutions to nutrition problems for clients that help address any barriers they may have in reaching their personal goals.

 

When not counseling clients, Alexander can be found pursuing his own fitness goals – whether that be jogging the Coney Island Boardwalk or getting his steps in at the park playing Pokemon Go. He enjoys playing the guitar and making music with others whenever he gets the chance.

 

Michelle Wolff, RDN, CDN

Michelle Wolff is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, a New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist and a graduate of University of North Florida.

Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Michelle interned at Boro Park Center, a rehabilitation facility and as a writer and editor for a nutrition news magazine. 

She specializes in eating disorders and intuitive eating. She is passionate about helping others find food freedom and discover the joy of eating again.  

When not counseling clients, Michelle can be found trying a new restaurant, writing or hanging out with her dog Beau.

Diane Giammarino-Tedaldi, MS RDN,CDN, Cert GAPS Practitioner

 

Diane Giammarino-Tedaldi is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, a New York State certified dietitian-nutritionist, a certified GAPStm Practitioner and a graduate of New York University. 
 
Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Diane worked with patients of all ages from pre-natal to pediatrics to geriatrics with conditions ranging from eating disorders to GI conditions to autoimmune disorders and cancer. She worked in a major hospital for over a decade as well as several outpatient settings. Diane is well-trained in functional nutrition and herbal medicine. She is passionate about empowering patients to reach their goals using food as their medicine, helping them realize that they have more control over their health than they think. 

When not counseling clients, Diane can be found riding her bike, kayaking with her family and friends, cooking, foraging, and fermenting foods.

Maya Billig, MS, RD, CDN

Maya Billig is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, a New York State certified dietitian-nutritionist, and a graduate of Muhlenberg College and Teachers College, Columbia University. 

Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Maya worked in various professional domains within the field of Nutrition and Dietetics. Maya’s foundation when providing nutrition counseling to patients is rooted in her clinical experience at NewYork-Presbytarian Hospital. She has also counseled collegiate Division I athletes to enhance their sports performances through proper nutrition and hydration. Maya has worked in the community setting hosting teaching kitchens for underprivileged youth featuring delicious and nutritious plant-forward recipes. In addition to working with clients to help them reach their health goals, Maya also works in corporate wellness to support a balanced food culture in the work setting.

She specializes in using food as preventive medicine. She is passionate about incorporating nutritious foods into the diet as a means to prevent lifestyle diseases and helping others remove the stress around food and discover what suits their bodies best. When working with clients she encourages a mindful approach to food, enjoying whole foods instead of dieting.

 

When not counseling clients, Maya enjoys hosting Friday night dinners for friends and family, exploring the restaurant scene in NYC,working out, and meandering around art museums.

​Tova Potesky-Oldak, RDN-CDN

Tova is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, a New York State certified dietitian-nutritionist, and a graduate of the University of Alabama.


Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Tova completed her dietetic internship at The Willows at Ramapo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Through this, she has experience in many types of Medical Nutrition Therapy, but she mainly specializes in obesity in both adults and pediatrics. She is passionate about helping people change and helping them keep that change for good.


When not counseling clients, Tova can be found shopping, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

Malky Sperlin, RD, CDN

Malky Sperlin is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, a New York State certified dietitian-nutritionist, and a graduate of University of Alabama.

Malky is a second-career dietitian with extensive life experience and an interest in specializing in Celiac Disease. Her passion is to educate and inspire her clients to make healthier lifestyle choices that will last. She enjoys empowering people to lead a balanced and wholesome lifestyle.

When not counseling clients, Malky can be found nourishing her family, reading and researching the most updated scientific research on wellness.

Jonah Udall CNS, CDN

Jonah Udall is a Certified Nutrition Specialist and a New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist. He holds an M.S. in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine University of Western States.

 

Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Jonah has worked in gut microbiome research, given nutrition lectures across NYC, and counseled patients in private practice. He specializes in gastrointestinal disorders and a whole foods whole body approach to nutrition care. He is passionate about empowering his patients with the tools they need to own their health.

 

When not counseling clients, Jonah can be found playing music and hiking in the great outdoors.

Lea Engelman RD, CDN

Lea Engelman is a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist, a New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist, and a graduate of CUNY Brooklyn College. She completed her internship at Hunter College and gained valuable experience through internships at Mount Sinai IBD Center, Boro Park Center, as well as various private practices. Lea has also been providing family nutrition counseling for Yeled V'Yalda HCBS program through home visits, tackling various nutrition-related issues including food insecurity and accessibility.

Lea specializes in Gastrointestinal conditions, Weight management, and Prenatal nutrition, bringing her expertise and a wealth of experience to help individuals manage their individual dietary needs.

 

Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Lea accrued a diverse range of experiences working in different healthcare settings and private practices. She is passionate about making a positive impact on people's lives by providing them with the knowledge and tools they need to achieve their health and wellness goals.

When not counseling clients, Lea enjoys pursuing her hobbies, including experimenting with new recipes, and traveling to new places.

Virginia Aloi Bernier RDN, CDN, CLC


Virginia is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, a New York State certified dietitian-nutritionist and a graduate of City University of New York’s Lehman College and University of Delaware. 


Prior to joining The Dietitian Group, Virginia worked as an Eating Disorder Dietitian, a WIC Qualified Nutritionist, and a Certified Lactation Counselor. She has counseled patients of all ages, cultural backgrounds, and multiple diagnoses, including diabetes, pregnancy, eating disorders, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity, and disordered eating. She specializes in diabetes, hyperlipidemia, obesity, pregnancy, lactation, and childhood nutrition. She is passionate about helping and empowering  people to mend their relationship with food and finding their way back to a healthy lifestyle.  Virginia is bilingual in Spanish and English. Ella estará encantada de servirle en español si así lo desea, entendiendo lo importante que es hablar su propio idioma en el sector de la salud y el bienestar.  

 
When not counseling clients, Virginia can be found gardening, cooking, crocheting, hiking nature trails, playing guitar, singing, and playing with her baby boy and 2 cats.
